Jade's Necklace..

" I know you are doing this for Jade."

~she looked right at him~

"I know that too. Cause I was the one that took possession of him when he was out that stopped everything."


~she sighed~

"And your right. You can't. Tho if he was to hurt you. I think she would let you hurt him. She has a dark side if she gets mad enough. Well you saw some of it that day she was so angry. You helped her defuse. I do that for him. I have this calming effect to him and I make him think about things. But even I have limits. He got to far from me and I ended up leaving Jade alone with erika and louis...I believe that is the day you two met."

~He nodded~

"Probably. The version I heard from Louis, was that he managed to trick Artimus into leaving. You went with him leaving Jade alone. They wanted me to hold onto her while Artimus chased them, but my vendetta was against Artimus himself, not anyone else. That is why I was going to let her go."

~He couldn't explain any further than that; not say why he then made love to her, nor went back to her when he had the chance next. He had no words to explain.~

~she nodded~

"Seems your family in general has it out for him."

~she started to play with a loose piece of hair in her fingers.~

~Spending time with her, he could see where Jade got a lot of her mannerisms from.~

"Well what with Louis giving up his eye, and then loosing Mac, can you blame him? Me, I'm just mad at him for being a coward. I never had him pegged as one."

~He finished his mead and set the glass down.~

~she knew what he meant. Her thoughts fled to that day. The day he left....the day she found out...it had started out as the happiest day in her life and ended up being the worse.~

~she had the saddest look at her face she would have cried some tears as the memory flooded her. She took a stagged breath even tho she didn't need to.~

~she quietly looked up at him~

"I never would have pegged him to leave either. Not with her. Not the way he did. Or when he did..." ~she was a hateful edge to it tho softly spoken.~

~He watched her for a moment.~

"You understand why I feel the way I do about him. To just up and leave at a time when he was needed..." ~he paused, trying to find the right words.~
"It's just damn irresponsible of him."

~she nods and took a deep breath.~

"The day he left started out as the happiest days in my life. I had found out that I was carrying jade. I went to go tell him when I was told he left with her for good." ~she took a shaking breath.~

"Then it turned into the worse day of my life."

~He put his hand on her arm, as if to say he understood.~

"You don't need to go on. I heard most of what happened. I watched, helpless as it all went to the nine hells and back. That's why I tried to take some control...."

~he stopped talking, but kept his hand on her arm.~

~she brought her hand to his hand on her arm and smiled softly~

"I guess cause of him we both went thru alot."

"Yes. You lost more though."

~He looked back at her.~

"It's a shame you didn't come and find me when he left. We were both...." ~He stopped speaking suddenly.~ "It's a shame you didn't."

~she nodded she knew what he had been thinking she thought about it too.~

"Yes well after that I wasn't sure how people would handle me having his child. So I took a short leave and went to visit some friends in another realm. I left jade in there care. I would go back and visit her. She aged faster there. I had sent for her a few days before the incident in Draco. She was coming to live here all the time. I had such plans. I was going to train her more with her abilities and the sword. Instead she was left alone. Not knowing anyone. I told her not to have people notice her and use my last name. But her powers kicked in and it made it hard for her to hide. She told me she was in grorr wanting to train because she wanted to make a difference but she didn't try to draw attention to herself. Probably why she didn't find you or you her while she was there. She did become friends with the duke in grorr and his friend Gilligan. But aside from them I don't think she let anyone close in fear that they would all leave her like He did and Myself." ~there was a pang of dispointment in her voice.~

"I felt like a failure. Tho we saved alot of people. I still let her down and I still feel that way."

~His hand was still resting on her arm as she spoke, and he squeezed it as she finished.~

"No one blames you. In fact, I think many people owe you a great debt. I lost friends that day too, some I miss more than others."

~He removed his hand and leaned back in his chair, thinking. It was clear he was trying to keep emotion off his face, and he'd had years to practise it. But sometimes emotion came too strong to hide. He was thinking of Susan. He hadn't loved her, and he knew she didn't love him either, but there was mutual lust between them. They both knew they used each other for... what they needed.~

~He looked into her eyes.~

"I guess i have more in common with the Pip-Squeak than I knew."

~she smlied softly and looked into his eyes.~

"Well. I do realize that now. But I still have those days where I wish I did go help or I think what would have been different if he didn't leave us. If I would have just stayed in the Cape instead of going to the party. I would still be the duchess in the cape and things would be better." ~she took a deep breath~

"But I know I can't change the past. Well enough about me. " She cleared her throat al ittle. These subject getting to her . Making her want to just be held and well art was busy. She shifted in her seat.


"I just need to change the subject." ~she flicked for a moment her emotions starting to get to high.~

~He frowned slightly as her appearance flickered.~

"Alright, what do you want to talk about then?"

~He couldn't offer much in the way of conversation topics.~

~she looked at him and realized she flickered.~

"When my emotions get high not all of them but the sad ones. I tend to flicker. I can touch the important people such as you, him and Jade. You three are the ones who can see me. I can still make love. I am just cool to the touch instead of nice and warm. I don't have to breath tho I tend to out of habit. Others then you three there are some that are sensitive to super natural who would be able to see me. The only fears I have is that what if a necromancer and then uses me against you three or sends me away forever or to some other realm." ~she moved her chair closer to him sitting next to him.~

"I want you to know all this too just in case we run into someone that might see me or what not."

~He tilted his head slightly~

"You can still make love? Explains why he's been walking with a smile on his face."

~His face went serious~

"There are necromancers around. I'm sure he knows as much as I do. But you'll want to keep away from Rensain. He used to hang around with that sort. The good news is they're not the type who go socialising in taverns. But keep yourself safe."

~There was a hint of concern in hi voice, which surprised him as much as it would have done anyone else.~

~she smiled and would have blushed if she could of as he said about them still making love.~

~she nodded and raised an eyebrow as he got a serious look on his face.~

"I will be careful. Just wanted you to know these things since it seems I can be called to you too. If I can be any help with anything just give me a call."

~He nodded to her.~

"You tell the Pip-Squeak to keep his mouth closed about you too. We don't need him running his mouth off to everyone and anyone about this. Once word gets out, who knows who will find out."

~He thought for a moment.~

"I better remind Louis not to say anything..."

~There was a very ominous tone to his voice.~

~nods~

"The only way I see him talking about it is if there is a damn green eye girl around. You sure you should? Maybe let him think it was a fluke or something..."

~He gave the smallest hint of a smile.~

"Louis has a mouth that can run. That was what started his hatred of your man to begin with. Don't worry though, I have plenty of ways of ensuring he won't say anything to anyone."

~she smiled and chuckled~

" I have no doubt of that. I had my own ways at one point."

~This time he couldn't keep the expression off his face. His eye brows went up in surprise.~

"You and Louis?"

~she laughed~

"I have been around him a few times I was in the cape.. but it was nothing like that..I meant that I had my ways for people not to talk also."

~He nodded, trying to hide his embarrasment at jumping to conclusions.~

"It's easier with him. he respects me and knows I can hurt him if he doesn't do what I say."

~Mind you, a lot of people were manipulated like that.~

~she nodded and softly smiled and she leaned on her arm and had her head resting in her arm as she watched Tib.~

"I knew I liked you for a reason. I just never realized how much a like we were until tonight. It part of what makes me trust you so much. I also think that is why Jade trusts you. You know it made him mad when she said she told her secret to you. I thought they were going to go to toe to toe about it."
