Heading back to the Cape

~Jade was riding Azure a few things she had left in grorr on the back of the horse. She waited just outside the gates of Grorr for Tib. She pulled her hair back up into a ponytail. She took a deep breath and tilted her head up closing her eyes for a moment as she listened to everything around her. Her hearing was alittle better then a humans being half elf. Hearing the air move the leaves the birds in the sky the.. *she took a breath* and grinned as she caught his scent. she kept her eyes close and waited for him.~

~The great black stallion appeared from within the gates, Tiberious on his back, and loaded down with some of his belongings. The rest of his things - including his bed - would be sent later on by horse and cart. He saw Jade waiting for him outside and sighed loudly. He rode up beside her.~

"This isn't what I meant when I said I'll see you on the road. I meant to make our leavings seperatly to avoid detection."

~His voice sounded gruff, but she would know he wasn't angry. He just like making life difficult.~

~she grinned keeping her eyes closed~

"Yes well like you could sneak up on anyone on your horse."

~she dropped her head down and looked at him.~

"You can always tell them you were escorting me cause am a helpless girl."

~He nodded to her.~

"Yes, that can work. Escorting a young, defenceless, helpless girl."

~He looked at her.~

"A girl with no idea what may lie on the road ahead of her, because her father is an idiot and she has no education. A girl who...."

~There was the hint of a smile on his lips as he started off down the road, still taunting her and clearly enjoying it~

".. couldn't fight off a mouse it appeared in front of her. A girl scared of her own shadow, and afraid of getting lost on the road and having to spend the night all alone, in the dark. It's a good job Tiberious is here to help her, protect her, fight for her. Comfort her when she gets lost."

~she chuckled at her father comments he made. she followed him down the road as he continued he was clearly enjoying this too much.~


~she got next to him and then went into voice that sounded so meek~

"Oh yes thank the Gods for my escort cause am such a helpless girl I might chip a nail or get dirty."


~she smirked~

~His face took a very concerned expression as he looked directly at her.~

"Then you best stay on that horse and let me do everything for you."

~His eyes glanced around, making sure they were out of sight of the city now, and alone on the road.

"And I'm glad you conceed that I am the braver, stronger and better of the pair of us."

~she grinned and leaned over and pull in for a quick kiss. Then said.~

"Yes I will say you that you are all those things... but don't forget more experienced." ~she gave a playful smile.~

~His mind flashed to what he did last night, and he felt a very small pang of guilt, although his emotionless face didn't show it. Just as well they were getting out of the city. Hopefully she'd never find out. Still, it was nice to be able to let himself loose without worrying about hurting her.~

"And older."

~Old enough to be her father in fact. Hells, he WAS older than her father!~

~she smiled~

"Mmm I like older. and handsome and sexy as hell..."

~she whispered softly as to just in case someone was listening other then Tib.~

"A God in bed.." ~she blushed.~

~His eyes narrowed as she said that phrase. What in the nine hells? Was it just co-incidence that she used those words, or had he been spied on last night? He tried to keep his face as emotionless as normal.~

"You're not the first to say that to me."

~she looked down the road.~

"Am guessing am probably not the last one either." ~she looked forward and didn't even glance at him.~

~He still looked at her, noting her body language. He was now pretty sure her mother HAD been watching him last night, and mentioned what had happened. Well, he'd deal with her later.~

"No, you will be the last one who finds out."

~Technically he wasn't lying. She was the last person to say it to him; just then when she said it. And he wouldn't be making last night's mistake again soon. She was too good to let slip through his fingers from a stupid mistake. That is what last night was to him. A mistake. Yes it felt good at the time to be able to let loose, but he can teach Jade. There will be no need for any more of that again.~

~He put his hand out, onto her leg as they rode side-by-side.~

~she looked over at him. and softly smiled. reaching down and putting her hand on his.~

"Its amazing how everyone says that you are player. Yet my dad is surprised you are still around me with everyone else out there. Mom disappeared for a while last night. Then her and dad got into a huge fight when she returned. Course I was abit buzzed on whiskey. So I wondered what it was he said. I have never seen her that mad ever."

"Your dad has got me all wrong."

~He looked at her, his hand still on her leg.~

"You want the truth? I was like that. But something changed when I met you. I've never felt anything like it. It's stupid to talk about it, I've never spoken about my feelings before, but you changed something in me. And I can't lose you."

~He looked away, this was the first time he'd ever spoken frankly about his feelings. And it was hard to do so.~

"Last night, your Mom came to see me. I didn't know she could do that, but she did. And we talked for a long while. We were close, me and your mother. It was good to catch up on old times. I guess your dad was jealous that she wanted to spend time with me."

~He looked back to her, ready to gauge her reaction.~

"Did you know she could travel through the pendant you gave me?"

~she smiled at him and squeeze his hand when he said she changed him all the doubts in her mind left people could try but she knew there was something strong there. She looked at him as he spoke about her mother coming to see him she looked surprised.~


"Actually I didn't...I know dad could. I hope she didn't bug you too much."

~she had been traveling most the evening now it was morning and she was riding half a sleep as she was on the edge of some woods. When she heard something and she stopped her cart. She grabbed her staff. and started to gather some magic to make a flame. When she had gathered enough magic. She threw up a fireball to see. When she did..there was a group of about 20 thieves. Her eyes went huge as they all came at her. She spun her staff around hitting 4 of them back but that just made them madder. They got her staff out of her hands and were holding her. As a few of them hit her around she gathered some more magic this and made a big fireball and took out 3 of them. Still strugging to get free as they kick her in the gut which doubled her over and she dropped to her knees as they kicked her while she was down. Then slugged her in the head as she spit out blood. As she looked up at them. The leader of the group got closer. It was the guy from the docks. He was grinning down at her. He knelt down to her as he held her face up.~

"Never mess with me again.." he said and then stood up and looked to the group. "Make her hurt more then kill her."

~He watched her carefully, trying not to make it too obvious he was doing so, gauging her reaction. Then he felt a wave of fear leave him as he realised she hadn't sent Indis to spy on him.~

"Not too much, although i wouldn't her to make it a habit. Sometimes a man needs to be alone."

~He glanced over towards a wooded area in the distance as a small plume of smoke appeared above the trees. His instinct kicked in. Something wasn't right here.~

"You carry on, I need to check this out. It might be nothing, but you never know."

~They were still a way away from it.~

~she stopped her horse as he went off. She made a face like she would let him have all the fun. She wait a few moment then followed him.~

~she breathed heavy and spit some more blood.~

"What are you too chicken to take me yourself. Need to have your thugs do your dirty work." ~she gathered some more magic. A short burst of flame shot out. As she lunged out for one of the thugs swords. Pulling the sword and pushed the pain away and took a defense position. There was still about 15 men that circled her. They took swings at her with weapons. One caught her already scarred arm it went deep she had blocked one of there thrusts but that one got thru. She took out two more until one kicked a her leg out from her as she screamed out as they broke the lower leg as she looked down.. oh god bone...she leaned on her good leg and gathered more magic. She lit one on fire that broke her leg. Still barely standing she swung the sword. This wasn't good. She could feel herself slip into the darkness but needed to keep fighting. She started gathering the magic again but they stopped her and kicked her hand and dropped her to the ground crushing her hand under there boot. The blood loss becoming too much she still fought the darkness. She kept kicking with her good leg and swinging with her other good arm.~

~He leaned over and kissed Jade quickly before turning his black stallion and running towards the wooded area. His horse was fairly fast, although not as fast as some, but it could keep a good pace for a long time. His eyes scanned the area as he ran, looking for anything that may be of use to him. The wooded area was near the road connecting Cape Salarain and Meriddia, although slightly southwards of it. Maybe a traveller who had strayed too far in the darkness of night had become lost and was trying to attract help. ~

~The wind brushed past his face as he charged his horse towards the area, then he was into the woods and slowed down. He picked his way through the undergrowth carefully before finally dismounting. He opened one of the packs his horse was carrying and removed his crossbow and some bolts, then headed in on foot. He knew the horse wouldn't leave the area.~

~His hand was on his sword hilt, just in case, and the crossbow strapped to his back. He could hear noise from up head; the clanking of meta on metal and some voices, although he was too far away to hear what was being said.~

~He reached the edge of the clearing and crouched down, looking through the underbush. He could see several large bodies crowded around something, and the horse and cart at the side gave him all he needed to know. A gang of thugs attacking a merchant. He slowly and silently reached for his crossbo and loaded it. One of the men raised a sword, clearly about to swing to on whatever - or whoever - was on the ground. He took aim and fired, hitting the man's hand and making him drop the sword harmlessly to the ground.~

"That was a warning. The next goes for the throat."

~His voice was gruff and loud, although he remained crouched, knowing the narutal sourroundings of the clearing would echo hsi voice, making it impossible to know where he was. He also knew that despite his amazing fighting abilities, 15 against one were pretty much impossible odds. Best let them go, and he'll find them another day.~

~she grinned after he took off and she followed and got off azure and grabbed her bow she knew he wouldn't want her close if she could help it. She threw it on her back and made it thru the woods and saw him fire and speak to them. She moved to his left.~

~ml~ " You are not having all the fun. I have my bow and yes am good at. I will keep my distance if need be. But we can't just let them get away with this."

~she heard a new persons voice... someone else was here..she took everything she had she gathered magic in her good hand that distraction is all she needed. A huge fireball took out two more as they ran... 13 left... she some how got to her knees finding a sword with that good hand. She swung the blade around and cut the back muscle of one of the men dropping them to there knees. As she stabbed him in the chest. She yelled.~

"I am not going with out a fight..." ~12 left..she was bleeding and breathing very heavy. She tried to pull the blade from the mans chest and it was stuck.~

"Oh shit.." ~she growled.~

~He sent a mind link back to Jade.~

~ml~ Keep down and don't let them see you.

~He sent that seconds before they turned and started to run, then the fireball caught two of them. He was already to his feet as the woman rose up and started slashing at them. Damn her. Couldn't she see they were leaving. Bloody citizens interfering in official duties. He saw her stab the man in the chest, and his sword came out of the scabbard with a metallic swish. He heard her speak, she meant business. He was only a few steps away from her now, and could see her struggling to pull the sword out. The other men were shouting as they ran, they clearly didn't want to wait around.~

"Let go of the sword and step away. Now."

~He was guessing the woman could do magic, given the fireball that emerged moments ago. His voice was all business. Tough and growly.~

~she turned to look at tib her hand still on the sword. That is when she noticed them running away. She took her hand off. Then turned to face him. Not sure if was friend or foe. She started to gather magic again.~

"I said am not... going to let you.. rob me.." ~she was bleeding from her head, arm and broke leg with part of the bone sticking out she probably had a couple of cracked ribs. she was running on pure survival. starting of a small fireball building up.~

*Jade pulled her bow sliding a arrow in place and drawing back watching in case he need her. Just as a safety she slid a foot into the dirt she could throw a small wall in front of him if she was going to throw another fireball. If tib would have looked down he would notice a small rise in the dirt. As jade sat on edge watching from her bow.*
