To spar or not to spar...

~From the corner of his eye he watched the sword spin away, then looked back to see Artimus already equiped with the quarterstaff. He knew the reach was a lot better than his sword, and moved backwards as the staff came towards his legs. His own staff was several paces behind him, so he ignored it for the moment. He was always better with a sword anyway.~

~He waited until the swing had gone past him, then ran forward, blade horizontal, hoping to drive it into Art's shoulder.~

Artimus was too quick. He saw the charge and dug the end of the staff into the ground, launching himself up into the air and kicking out with his right foot towards Tib's face.

~He ducked the incoming foot and sliced upwards, hoping to catch part of the leg.~

Artimus felt a small stab of pain from the back of his lower leg. Tiberious had just got him.
He landed, testing his weight on the leg. It was fine for the moment. he could feel blood on the leg though.

~He spun around, to face Artimus once again. he could see the gash on his trouser leg, and the red mark starting to erupt. He smiled.~

"First blood to me."

~He gripped the sword in both hands once more and charged once again.~

Shame we're not fighting to first blood. i wouldn't have let you get me.

He moved his grip to the middle of the staff and waited until the distance between them was close enough, then he struck out with the end of the staff, flicking the end towards Tib's face.

~she watched and breathed thru the first bits she had to stay calm but she always loved a good fight. she just had to not feed her father her emotions. she would take what he was feed to her and push it away.~

~he brought his sword up as the staff moved, swiping at the blunt end.~

At the last second he dropped the end of the staff slightly to avoid the sword blade, the end of the staff now aimed at his chest.

~she was deep breathing alot and trying not to jump each time. Nervously she places her hands on the ground hoping it will help keeping her calm. She kept watching that leg of her fathers as it bled.she hoped the air would stop the bleeding then she thought. She closed her eyes and then made sure a breeze kicked up alittle to dry the blood up so it wouldn't be a problem. Tho she had never really tried it before. She continued to breath deep and thought about a small breeze to guide to his leg. she breathed out as a small breeze picked up and blew on his leg.~

~He had no time to react to the change in position and ran straight into the end of the pole. The blow knocked him off his feet, although he wasn't injured because of his chestplate~

Artimus watched the staff make contact, and the big man fall to the floor backwards. He flicked the staff around, putting the end that had just made contact into the ground and used it to vault himself into the air and land near his opponent. Then he brought the staff around to hit Tiberious in the face.

~He saw the damn stick coming back to him. he knew he wouldn't have time to get out of the way due to the weight of his armour, so instead he swung the sword with both hands, overhead (still lying down), aiming for the middle of the staff.~

The staff was sliced in half, the free end flying off away from both men. Artimus cursed and launched himself across the distance between them both, aiming to land astride the mans chest. He gathered magic as he did so.

~Saw Artimus flying towards him, and swung yet again. The stupid man had no armour, so it was his own fault if he ended up losing an arm or a leg. He aimed his blow for Art's left arm.~

Artimus realised at the last second the foolhardiness of his move, and twisted himself slightly, avoiding the majority of the blow, but still feeling the blade slice through a layer of skin on the outside of his shoulder. He gave a small roar of pain as the shirt came away, red, followed by a piece of flesh.

He landed to the right hand side (Tib's right hand side) of Tiberious, and dropped to the floor, putting what was left of the staff (the bit he had been holding) across Tiberious's neck, pushing down to block the windpipe.

This ends now. he hissed.

~He didn't feel any remorse for cutting Artimus, it was his own fault. The the damn man landed and started choking him.~

~He let go of the sword in his left hand, using it grab onto Art's face and push him away.~

Artmimus felt more pain shoot through him as his already injured chin was pushed by Tiberious. Yes, Tiberious had more strength than Artimus did, but Artimus had gravity on his side. He continued to push down on Tiberious's wind pipe.

~His vision started to blur as he had trouble breathing. He gasped, still trying to push at Art's face, but he knew it was probably useless.~

Artimus felt his force start to wane and knew he had him.

Yield the fight Tiberious, else I will kill you.

He wasn't sure how much more Tiberious could take, but Artimus had the upper hand now. He breathed out a sigh as he realised he had won.

~He choked slightly.~

"Not. Going. To." ~His speech was fast and stuttered, he was clearly having trouble breathing.~

"You. Haven't. Got. The. Guts. To. Kill. Me." ~he gasped.~

Artimus heard the words. Damn him! If he just submitted then this would all be over.

He glanced to Jade, knowing the promise he had given her, then looked over to the trainees.

I think we can all see who the winner is here.

He released the pressure on Tib's neck, rolling back on his heels.

~He gasped for air as his throat was unrestricted once again and lay for a moment breathing heavily. Then he sat up and got to his feet. He turned to face Artimus and kicked him square in the face. Hard.~

"I never yielded the fight."

Artimus watched his old friend get up, glad he hadn't had to kill him, then suddenly something black and metal moved towards his face and.... he had no further thoughts.

~Tiberious watched the man fall back limply, then walked over and checked his pulse.~

"He's alive."

~He turned to Jade.~

"He clearly can not yield the fight now, so I guess I can continue kicking him until he's dead. Will you yield for him?"
