A visit to see old friends

The sun was bright, and not long in awaking as Artimus and Jade headed into the city. Azure faithfully carried the pair on his back as Jade was still horseless. Artimus realized he'd have to sort that at some point.

They reached the main gate - the south gate today - and dismounted, stabling Azure and then they headed off into the city. Artimus kept a close watch all around; they hadn't had much luck in this city recently.

He was fighting a slight headache, and the bright sun hurt his eyes when he caught it full on, but he showed no signs of it. He was pretty sure Jade felt the same way.

They walked through the dock area, and Artimus glanced over to where his boat was berthed.

If we have time, I'll take you out for a short sail

He pointed towards the boat, looking over, and nearly bumped into a blonde woman!

Sorry He said to her. A spark of warning went off in his head as he looked at her; there was a brief moment of recognition, but he couldn't place who she was. There were so many people in the city he couldn't be expected to know each one by name. But something about this woman in leather. Yes, the leather was important. Blood? Damn his memory...

"I like that..da...I like that." ~she looked as her father nearly ran over a blonde woman.~

~she turned and glared at him. she knew who he was and she had to tell louis who was here. She moved threw the crowds to a side alleyway.~

"He is here with some girl." ~she said softly to the figure in the shadows.~

~He stood leaning against the wall. Gone was the youth, replaced with the knowledge of a man. He wore an eyepatch over one eye. he folded his arms as she spoke to him.~

"Here? What the hell is he doing back here? We spent all that time searching for him and he's here!"

~Also gone was his old voice, replaced now with a more gravelly tone more reminiscent of his older brothers. He knew Erika didn't know who the girl was, otherwise she would have said so.~

"Another girl? 20 coins says she's got green eyes. Where are they going, you know?"

~she shrugged~

"They were talking about a going on a boat ride if they had time." ~she shifted on her feet. and crosses her arms~


"Yeah he did have thing for them. What about that lady in waiting chick? what was her name I met her like once. or was he with some other one or both."

~she glanced in the direction they went.~

"There is a rumor about someone that fits his description that raped some girl or beating her up. I wonder if that is the same one."

~she looked at the lady~

"Damn did you do something to that lady. It was like looks could kill."

~she stayed close to her father not wanting to find trouble again.~

~He continued to lean against the wall, watching and listening.~

"Indy something, wasn't it? Indiana? Indescribable? Something like that. And as for how many he had on the go, who knows with him!"

~She continued with the rumor of rape~

"Wouldn't surprise me if he did, but I doubt he'd be walking around flaunting her."

~He looked at Erika, a small smirk on his face.~

"You think our civic duty would be to detain them and question them?"

Artimus continued to walk, watching everywhere carefully. he was suddenly feeling very uneasy. Or was that just his paranoia coming back? Yes, it had to be.

I don't think so. Probably just one of the many people I've arrested over the years, now going straight and surprised to see me. He tried to sound reassuring.

He gripped Jade tighter as they walked, but he was still looking.

~she kept her guard up as ressuring as he tried to sound she could tell something was up.~

"Wanting more revenge on you?" ~she moved faster with her father.~

"How much further to there house?" ~she glanced around.~

~a smirk came across her face~

"I believe it would be a shame if we didn't do our duty."

~she took a step forwards him and pulled him in for a passionate kiss~

"Lets go after them."

~grins~

"You remember the time we were in the city of Cair Paravel? Same routine, alright. You take the ugly one, I'll take the girl."

~He pushed away from the wall and started off down the alleyway and onto the street, spotting his prey right away. All he had to do was tail them from a decent distance and wait for Erika to distract Artimus.~

There's still a way to go. They lived past the old town, in the rich area, slightly more inland. The roads get easier and not so crowded further in.

He didn't like the close confinement of so many people bustling along - there was too much going on for him to take in all at once, and too many hiding places.

~she grabs a few things to cover herself up. Grabbing alittle dirt and rubbing it in her face and messing up her hair. bring on the fake tears. she loved all this. she chuckled to herself as she ran up and "Nearly" Knocks him over again.~


~she sobs and acts all scared~ " God please... Help... he is coming after me... he is going to kill me..." ~she grabs ahold him shaking~

~He spots Erika move into position, so he does the same, moving around the opposite side to where he knew she was going to point. he was almost within striking distance of the girl now.~

Artimus stops and looks at the beggar.

Who? Who is after you? Old habits die hard as he lets go of Jade and his right hand drops to the handle of his rapier. He turns around in the direction she is indicating, to see if he can see who she means.

~she step back as the lady was all over her father and looked around the crowd.~

~she pulled art toward the direction~

"Please come please" ~she was shaking and sobbing so loud. as she lead him towards the alleyway pulling him away from jade.~


~she saw louis and continued her little play. Waiting for him to get her and then she would put art out~

~He watched the situation, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Too early and that damn man would hear, too late and she might move to see what was happening. Now, just as he was on the cusp of the alleyway.~

~Louis stepped forward, through the crowd and struck hard on the back of the girls neck, using both hands to drive home the blow.~

~she watched as her father was pulled down the alley she was still trying to figure out what was happening when she was hit from behind the hit dropped her to her knees and she blacked out.~

~she was thinking what the heck hit me as she went down she caught a tiny glimpse of the man~

Artimus was half dragged and half walked towards the alleyway, his hand still on his rapier ready to draw it if need be.

As they neared the mouth of the alley, he couldn't see anyone in there, although there was a fair bit of rubbish lying around.

Where did you say he was?

He continued to look down the alley, judging likely hiding places, and possible attack angles.

~He carried his movement forward, catching the girl as she slumped forward. It had happened so quickly no one seemed to be paying the blind bit of notice. He checked her pulse; she was still alive, and carried her to the side of the street, to wait for Erika.~

"He was right down there." ~she smirked~

~she stood behind him and she brought both her fist together to the base of his neck with a fast and hard blow that would knock him out if she hit it just right~

... and she did get it just right. For the second time in the last few days, Artimus dropped from the blow.

~she walked over and pulled arts dead weight over her shoulder and brings him over to where louis was.~

" That was easy." ~she grinned~

~she looked at the girl~

"Doesn't she look like that indy chick..." ~she held onto art.~

"So where are we taking them?" ~she looked at louis~

~He smiled as she emerged from the alley with him. He had been pretty confident about her, but there was always the nagging feeling whenever you got into plans involving Artimus.~

"Almost too easy."

~He looked at the girl properly, for the first time.~

"A bit. Bit young though.Maybe a relative. We can find out later. Let's get them to the house."

~The House he was referring to was the house he and Erika were staying in at the moment. It belonged to Mac and Red, but while they were away, Louis and Erika had free reign over it. As long as they didn't open the wardrobe, was all Mac had told him.~

~They started off down the street towards their house, taking their captures with them. To anyone looking, they woudl look like a party of revellers with 2 having indulged too much.~
